We hike to the deepest canyon in Finland (up to 130 m), home to brown bears and reindeer. In addition to the spectacular frozen waterfalls that are our main objective, the place offers great opportunities for hiking, watching nature and animals such as reindeer, fishing and reviewing the cultural history of usage of nature in the area.
Frozen Waterfalls Tour
After pick up from your accommodation, we will drive on the road frequently visited by reindeer to the canyon that is in the middle of the wilderness. There is even no mobile network coverage in many spots. We will walk through the beautiful Finnish winter forest on the old logging road towards the bottom of the canyon to see the frozen waterfalls. There will be a chance to climb to the waterfalls and touch the ice or hide in a cave formed by ice (subject to conditions on the spot). This is not offered by any other tours! At the end of our hike, just before we leave the canyon, we will make a campfire and prepare traditional Finnish sausages. We will also enjoy a blueberry juice. We may see reindeer and other wildlife on our way. In the end, you will be taken back to your accommodation.
